THE MONKEES ‘GOOD CLEAN FUN’
Back in the distant times of 2002, I put together a briefly operational website, dedicated to the magical world of the Monkees, entitled THE MONKEES ‘GOOD CLEAN FUN’. I reviewed every damn track I could find, every TV episode – and I included every concert date I could locate… and a whole lot more. But, sadly, I never really completed it to my satisfaction and it just… kinda… faded away…
It was only fairly recently that, whilst cleaning up my old PC files, that I stumbled across the original piece again – and you know what ? It’s not tooo bad really ! So, given the fact that this was written almost a quarter of a century ago (!), well before the mighty Andrew Sandoval took the bull by the horns and, not only produced the definitive book on the quartet (with the promise of more to come soon), but also discovered enough unreleased material to re-issue the first eight albums as SUPER DELUXE EDITION multi-disc CDs, I now give you my (somewhat outdated) version of events – albeit still with a few typo and original layout issues ! All I ask is that you take on board that this was written well before Andrew dug deep into the archives and uncovered so much more detail than I personally ever could – along with the sad truth that this was also written when all four Monkees were still with us…
RIP Davy, Peter and Mike – you will never be forgotten
