Boy, did I start a controversy when I had this article published in SHINDIG! magazine, back in 2024! The response that the editors received, despite their own enthusiasm for the piece, was of a… ‘mixed bag’ shall we say! The Osmonds? A boy band?? In SHINDIG??! Surely not… Apparently some ‘readers’ were of the sad inclination to boycott their subscription over this ! Jeez… some folk sure are a touch blinkered with their musical tastes, aren’t they?
Oh well, and whilst I would never force anyone to listen to the music, some people may be a bit surprised if they would only take twenty minutes or so to listen to some of the deeper cuts from the family’s vast output… it’s not all “Puppy Love”, “Long Haired Lover From Liddypool” or “Paper Roses”! Anyways, I’ll let the individual decide what they want to listen to, but please, just read the article and enjoy…
